This is a photo from yesterday's USC PhD Hooding Ceremony. It still feels strange to be formally a Dr.! I am in the job market for Fall semester, so if you need an expert to teach on nuclear weapons, IR theory or intro to IR, or international conflict, I am available!

Befriend your cohort/other PhD students in the program. They can give you tips about the "hidden curriculum," be the first reviewers of your papers before you present it to a conference, and maybe even become life long friends. It also makes the journey more fun and less lonely

I haven't logged in two months. Anyway, I attended the Peace Science Conference in the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, to present a working paper on religion and conflict with Pat James. Friendly crowd! I wasn't there long but it was a fine experience.
