If you are living with mental health challenges, it doesn’t mean that you’re flawed or broken. You don’t need to be “fixed”. You have a diagnosable, treatable illness, but you’re not defined by your diagnosis. You’re human, you are loved, and you are enough. #StopSuicide

Experiencing suicidal thoughts isn’t a disease or a permanent state. It isn’t a label to be worn. It is however, a sign that a person is hurting deeply and struggling to find hope. Labels don’t provide hope. People do. People who’re hurting need hope, not judgement. #StopSuicide

When you are experiencing intense pain, whether physical, mental, or emotional, it can be difficult to see past your pain. Pain can convince you that it has always been with you, and always will be. The truth is, with time and treatment, you can move past your pain. #StopSuicide

Sometimes being “in the trenches” is about being fully present. It’s about being willing to sit with a person who is struggling mentally or emotionally and simply saying, I’m here and I’m sorry that you’re hurting. You matter. Your life matters. Your pain matters. #StopSuicide

Juneteenth is a reminder that freedom is more than giving “permission” to be free. True freedom requires access to employment opportunities, healthcare, and affordable housing. For Black Americans freedom has never come easily and should never be taken for granted.

Men, listen up. The key to overcoming some of our biggest challenges is to talk about them, especially when things get tough. If you or someone you know are struggling mentally or emotionally, please know that you’re not alone. It’s okay to talk, and life can get better.

By the power vested in me as a social worker, father, and God fearing American, I hereby proclaim that I am the tip of the spear! I am the thunder! I am the downpour raining down on stigma, hatred, bigotry, racism, and intolerance, and I will not stop fighting. #StopSuicide

As someone who was born and raised in the church and who identifies as Christian, I am growing increasingly tired of seeing people use Christianity and intentionally distort the Bible, to justify hatred, bigotry, intolerance, and racism. Christianity intentionally seeks out

A young person who is experiencing suicidal ideation is in emotional pain and wants the pain to end. Already in a vulnerable state, they can’t problem-solve without meaningful support from caring adults. You may be your child’s first line of defense against suicide. #StopSuicde
