A special ceremony was held in Letterkenny’s Conwal Cemetery this afternoon, remembering Ireland’s fallen veterans who died on UN peacekeeping missions. Comdt Gethins layed a wreath on behalf of the 28 Inf Bn.

Today the 44th recruit platoon commenced their training in the 28 Bn. They will undergo rigorous training for the next 12 weeks, embracing the challenges ahead with resilience and determination. We wish them the best of luck. #bemore

The 44th Recruit Platoon have just completed their 96 hour exercise. They got to perform a variety of patrols, section attacks and a final raid. The recruits are now preparing for their last week of training before beginning their final 2-3 star training in the upcoming weeks.

Today 11th of February Lt Col James O'Shea alongside BSM Noel Gallagher, presented Aidan Rattigan, Manager Beechwood House Letterkenny ONE with a cheque in the amount of €1583, collected from the members of the 28th Infantry Battalion. Helping to support our veterans.

The 28th Bn, in conjunction with the 6th Bn had students that successfully completed the Javelin YE course. The students were tested on AFV level 2 in Custume barracks Athlone on the 19/02/25 and completed the course with a tactical carrying exercise in Finner Camp today.

As part of Seachtain na Gaeilge a coffee morning through Irish was held today in Finner Camp. OC 28 Bn, Lt Col Jim O'Shea spoke on the importance of speaking Irish. CQ Maloney, Irish Language Officer, spoke on the availability of online Irish courses.
