Two personnel recently attended Ex EAGLE POWDER in Val Thorens, France alongside 40 regular soldiers & officers. Skiing is one of 16 recognised AT activities available to Reservists. Through controlled exposure to risk; these activities provide a unique opportunity to develop.

Last weekend the Sqn got together for their development weekend. The weekend gave members of the Sqn a chance to discuss future plans. In and amongst, plenty of PT was conduced including a circuit aptly named 'The 12 Gains/Pains of Christmas'. 🆎

The Sqn fielded a team for the Army Sport North Team Cross Country Championships and achieved silver. This qualified them to compete in the '25 Army Cross Country Team and Individual Championships, where Cpl H was selected to join the Cross Country Team. well done lads 👏 🥈

A Day at the Ranges. 299 run a minimum of 6 days at the ranges each training year. This helps keep members of the Squadron refreshed and in date with their weapon handling skills. If you could see yourself using your free time for training such as this then drop us a message.

Last weekend, the Squadron made the most of the (unusual) glorious weather to carry out valuable training in North Yorkshire. Activities included refreshing essential skills around fire trenches and mortar pits—vital knowledge for operational effectiveness. #Ubique

Our squadron triathlon participants put in a strong performance at the Army North Triathlon competition this month. SSgt R and Cpl B both delivered impressive results, with Cpl B taking Silver overall in the male competition. Well done to both. 🚲🏃‍♂️🏊🥈

Squadron Social – Duxford War Museum ✈️ The Squadron took a well-earned break from training last weekend with a social visit to Duxford War Museum. A great day out exploring some incredible aircraft and military history.

Last weekend, OC 299 completed the 'Montane Spine Challenger South' - a foot race along the Pennine Way from Edale (in the Peak District) to Hardraw (in the Yorkshire Dales), over 108 miles and 5,700 metres of ascent. Fitness is supremely important to all soldiers!

In recognition of Reserves Day and Armed Forces Week, LCpl Walker was honoured with an invitation to 10 Downing Street for the Armed Forces Network Breakfast Reception, hosted by Minister for Veterans and People, Alistair Carns. 🇬🇧

Exercise Eagle Speedstar- Members of 299 Parachute Squadron RE recently returned from Exercise Eagle Speedstar held in California. This was a regimental training expedition delivered by our regular counterparts at 23 Parachute Engineer Regiment.
