The Squadron enters its fourth and final mission with the RTR Battlegroup tomorrow in the Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (CATT) simulators in Germany. This brings to a close an intense two-week cycle of planning and execution, before we move into the Field Training Exercise phase

The Squadron was visited by Comd 25 (Close Support) Engineer Group today. He observed the troops conducting low level training serials, supported by 1MWD and 35 Engr Regt (EOD&S), and presented SSgt W with a richly deserved 2* General’s Commendation.

The Squadron took a short break today to visit Möhne Dam and Wewelsburg Castle. Soldiers from the Squadron delivered first class vignettes, articulating the significance of these sites and highlighting their relevance during the Second World War.

Today the Squadron, and personnel from the Royal Tank Regiment, paid a sombre visit to Bergen-Belsen. Soldiers delivered vignettes around the grounds and reminded us that being a strong deterrent of war, relies upon us being a well-trained and professional Army.

Having a Blast! Sappers from the Squadron supported an urban warfare demo delivered by the Royal Tank Regiment on Ex IRON FIRE. Here we showcased one technique for breaching a building using explosive method of entry.

CO @26_engineer_regiment visited the troops on Ex IRON FIRE this week. Our plant operators showcased their skills: including digging a Battlegroup Command Post with compacted bund. They also built an incredible model pit and for junior soldiers to practise the orders process.

“Sport doesn’t build character, it reveals it!” Every man and woman that entered that ring is a champion. But a special mention to LCpl M form our Sqn. Guts and determination in spades! Excellent fight, well done!

A great effort from 3 CER and our PNGDF partners, constructing a trench system to protect us from ‘enemy’ artillery and other attacks. The trench is fully covered with a low signature, two gun pits, and a raised sump for sleeping, making it liveable for extended periods.

Clearing the way 🦾💥! .. we have been hosting a training exercise for all the Armoured Engineers from Corps of Royal Engineers over the past few weeks. This was supported with expertise from Combat Manoeuvre Centre, helping us to deliver the Engineer Support for The Iron Division & 12 Armd BCT 🇬🇧

Capt J and Lt H from 38 HQ & Sp Sqn supported Ex ORION 23 and were presented with 12 Armd BCT awards for their incredible efforts during the three weeks. It was a real privilege for OC 33 to work with these two legends!! 💪

Divers from the Squadron honing their skills on Ex SCARAB DIVE in Weymouth. They dived using Open Space Diving Systems (OSDS) and Self Contained Air Diving Equipment (SCADE); testing new communication and 3-D rendering systems. Pity the weather was so testing 😎🌞 ☘️ 🤿
