1st group of Lancashire Police 140 recruits swearing allegiance 2 the King. 41% female, 14% BAME. However, ALL were offered support at every stage of the process. Was asked if there was provision to offer prayers. Of course there is! Proud moment for them and their families.

Today, I'm at Walton Le Dale High School on a speed dating style careers event where I'm speaking to a new group of students every 5 minutes about the roles and careers available at Lancashire Police. One thinks his voice will be gone by the end of the event.

Fabulous turnout today for the opening of the Police Horizons Scheme Runshaw College. This is the 2nd year we're running it where students will get an insight into policing whilst giving up their lunch break to do this. Another evening at Runshaw College engaging with the young & the old about policing, the careers available & the work we do. For some reason, my stand was the busiest all night & I was the last man standing till 8pm after most of the rest of the employers had packed & gone!

All set up for the first meeting with the black community and have open and honest conversations in how the Constabulary will be delivering the Race Action Plan.

Brilliant turnout for the first meeting since Covid epidemic with the imams & key contacts of Preston. The first of many open forums where the community tell the Police what is important to them. My thanks to PS Dean Khan & Insp Byrne will now deal with the issues raised.

So on, Saturday evening, I was honoured to attend The Suffah Institute (Preston) after receiving help from @LanpacLtd to talk to kids & youths about reducing knife crime & ASB. To say the audience was receptive is an understatement. Real clever questions & some really bright talent in the making.

Tonight I attended the Jamea Mosque in Preston where I, along with the Avenham officer PC Seth & PCSO Josh from the city centre, gave a talk to kids at the Madrasah about leading a life away from crime & the repercussion should they venture this path. Even the imams joined in! 😂
