Kudos to Kathy Kaufield for spelling it out. Women in all 🇨🇦 must be able to self-refer for mammography screening starting 40not50. Access should not depend on where a woman lives. Early detection matters: it determines the harshness of therapy required, and the chances of survival.

An increase in breast cancer diagnoses earlier and earlier in addition to higher mortality rates in Black women caused the USPSTF to change the average age of beginning mammograms to 40 years old instead of 50 previously. Read more on the story here: amp.cnn.com/cnn/2023/05/09…
