Just some pilot training this weekend for Sgt Akbar 😊 Today working her way through the Gliding Scholarship syllabus with APO Dykes There are so many cool things you can “do, learn, be” in RAF Air Cadets and a pilot is absolutely one of them. Do, learn, be - oh we like that! 🫡

Weekdays are just a pause in gliding (apart from the weekdays where we are actually gliding). The good news is that we’ve passed the midpoint of the week so we’re getting closer to flying more RAF Air Cadets again 😀

Sat over RAF Kenley is the London TMA. This Class A Airspace extends from 2500 ft up to FL195, keeping commercial traffic arriving and departing London safely separated from our gliders below. Always nice to see RAF Kenley from over 10,000 ft

It was a pleasure to welcome Wg Cdr Helene Gould, OC Sussex Wing, to RAF Kenley over the weekend. Aside from escorting some amazing RAF Air Cadets and seeing them fly, she also surprised Sqn Ldr Mike Riley with his fourth bar to his CFM. 50 years at 615 VGS. Incredible 🫡

We’ll be flying RAF Air Cadets over five days starting from this Friday. Therefore we will lock the perimeter gates to the airfield from 0800hrs each day, starting on Friday morning. Safety first as always.
