Today saw 8 more cadets from South East Scotland Wing visiting RAF Kirknewton and achieving their blue ATP wings. The cadets joined us from 869 (Penicuik) and 470 (Falkirk) Sqns

Today cadets from Central Scotland Wing took their first flight in the Viking at RAF Kirknewton. Our guests came from 1019 (City of Stirling) Sqn RAF Air Cadets 1145 RAF Air Cadets 2519 Strathmore

On Sunday Sqn Ldr Lewis sent Mark, one of our staff, cadets for his first solo. This is the first silver wings solo at Kirknewton since the pandemic and the 100th cadet to have been sent solo by Sqn Ldr Lewis. Congratulations to both. RAF Air Cadets Comdt 2 FTS

Over the weekend more cadets from @SNIRAFACMedia took to the air in the Viking. Despite the bad weather on Saturday, 12 cadets from North and Central Scotland Wings achieved blue or bronze wings. RAF Air Cadets

Today Cadet Copeland from 1138 Ardrossan ATC earned her Blue wings having received the 200th Aviation Training Package delivered at RAF Kirknewton this year. This is a great achievement as the squadron only returned to flying at the end of June following a pause due to COVID-19

1/3 What a weekend for 661VGS! First congratulations to FSC Tuach for achieving her first solo in the Viking. Katelyn has become the first cadet to fly solo at Kirknewton in 2022. GS applications are still open so you too can follow in Katelyns steps

2/3 We continued the success over the weekend with FSC Eagleson being awarded his Grade 1!!! Harry can now instruct other cadets on the GIF syllabus

3/3 The hat-trick occurred on Sunday with the award of Grade 2 to FSC Nichols. Josh can now captain the Viking without a solo check and is a step closer to his Grade 1
