In the shutout of Christ The King, Brodie Kennedy was at his peak in goal. He made several immaculate saves on tough, well-placed shots, coming up big is pressured situations. He was rock solid all season between the pipes for Bradford Prep.

Jake Hanson (Bradford Prep) made considerable contributions in the shutout of Christ The King. He was an anchor at center back, flaunting oncoming attacks with strong tackles & wise decision making. He’s truly one of the more underrated players I saw last season.

Jan Linder (Bradford Prep) really upped his involvement in attack in the win at Christ The King. He provided reoccurring pressure at the top, impacting forward momentum with his speed & some smooth technical sequences, making the defense work.

Cullen Campbell was solid at right back all season for Bradford Prep. As just a freshman, he provided reliable tenacity on defense. His effort was never lacking, & he always worked hard to win headers. Much will be expected of his in his sophomore campaign this season.

I was impressed with the activity level at the top from Jacob Quach (Bradford Prep) in the win at Christ The King. The freshman had some dangerous attacks at the right wing, penetrating a strong defense of larger players to put his team in position to score.

Lucas Devente (Christ The King) was a workhorse in the midfield vs Bradford Prep. He contributed on both sides of the ball, making hard tackles on defense, & playing a strong, technical game on offense. He also carried himself like a captain, showing leadership.

It’s hard to credit just 1 defender, because Christ The King’s back line was incredibly strong throughout vs Bradford Prep. They played a staunch brand of defense, giving very little ground to a team with an otherwise strong attack, limiting their chances significantly.

Brycen Wall (Cox Mill) is the king of winning 50/50 balls. At fullback he thrives putting himself situations where he can constantly challenge the play, inexplicably winning 50s almost every single time. He was spectacular vs Northwest Cabarrus, scoring a brace in the victory.

Ryan Ferguson had a great season for Cox Mill, making steady progression as the season went on. Primarily found at fullback, he often would get involved offensively, sending diagonal passes into the box for his attackers.

Tyler Hiatt (Cox Mill) played his usual excellent defense in the win over Northwest Cabarrus, but he also expanded his impact. He took advantage of gaps in the defense & got involved in the attack, making excellent short passes, timely runs, & preserved possession.

Rahal Karkoubi (South Mecklenburg) played an incredibly technical game in the win over Central Cabarrus. He generated majority of the Sabres offense, serving his teammates with pinpoint passes, carrying while retaining possession, picking apart the opposing defense.

I like how involved Patrick Dugan (South Mecklenburg) was in the final third in the win over Central Cabarrus. He was relentless when it came to creating chances, standing strong & thwarting the effort from the opposition.

I was blown away with how complete an offensive performance Blady Saguilan-Trany (R.J. Reynolds) put together in the win vs A.L. Brown. He dominated the midfield, seamlessly penetrating the defense & serving his teammates perfect passes while putting many shots on frame.

A lot of responsibility will be on the shoulders of Alex Kuhner this season. After a stellar sophomore season in which he led R.J. Reynolds in goals as a captain, his production will be expected to increase along with the team’s success. He showed composure in the season opener.

I was impressed by the valiant defensive effort put forth by Chris Torres-Sierra (A.L. Brown) in the 1st half vs R.J. Reynolds. He flaunted threatening attacks from the opposition with strong, physical play in the final 3rd, highlighted by a potent slide tackle in the box.

I was pleasantly surprised with how formidable Sebastian Cardenas was at fullback in his regular season debut for A.L. Brown. His pace of play was excellent, wasting no time getting the ball moving up the pitch while still giving a strong effort defensively.
