The average weekly wage in the UK is £722. Elite footballers deserve to earn lots of money. But the money in football is an offense to the spirit and roots of the game. There must be a salary cap to protect the sport at all levels.

Yes - the time of our lives, because it was about the unity of the country and the *emotion*. Because that's what football is about. We lose ourselves in the minutiae of tactics and formations and tactical newspeak. Go watch Fever Pitch and understand what the game should be.

Can not stress this enough. The atmosphere, the banter, your mates, your fellow fan, the ups, the downs ... this is football. It's why we're fans. Rest is sideplates to the main course. You don't remember the tactical nuances. You remember the moments. You remember the feelings.

We all know about Gills’ away end, but let’s be honest, it is preferable by miles to any of the identikit soulless experiences of the modern, new-build stadium.

The problem “modern” football faces is that the need for “content” and “updates” severely outstrips the supply of both. Anyone one would think we won the playoffs 16 weeks ago, instead of 16 days. ^Chris #AFCW

Because when live football is omnipresent, people are going to get bored. Who wants to watch Bournemouth vs Villa at 5.30 on a Saturday? Saturation is a killer. ^ND
