What makes seagrasses so special? Seagrasses are the only flowering plants we find living in the ocean. Just like plants on land, they have flowers and seeds. This species is Enhalus acaroides and it has flowers that open at low tide and pollen that floats on the surface.

I had the opportunity to share some of my PhD research at the #AMSA2023 conference last week. It was wonderful to hear about all the amazing marine research happening across Australia, and spend time with new and old friends. Officially one month until I submit my thesis!🥳

Are animals occupying and healthy in restored coastal ecosystems? We extracted over 5000 data points and found indeed they are, and at remarkably similar abundances and diversity than in natural systems. One Earth: authors.elsevier.com/a/1iyPz9C%7EIu…
