Evidently it’s very threatening to state attorney generals that Llano County might have a book about a farting leprechaun on the shelf. So much so that they’ve filed an amicus brief and the Fifth Circuit court is going to rehear the case with the full court. 😠

As Anne says, librarians aren’t felons and library books aren’t porn. But it’s important to note that extremists in Texas are trying to change legal definitions so librarians *can* be charged with felonies for shelving books like The Bluest Eye.

Hernando is a default NO ACCESS district. 62% of students do not have library check out access due to parent inaction. Of those that completed forms: 83% were given full access, 16% were limited to grade level content, 1% of students have parents that opted out.
