A rare moment to escape yesterday and catch up with Ben and Laura at Cliff Bank Nursery and see the extraordinary progress they’ve made in such a short space of time. The plants are beautifully presented and the quality and range is testament to their collective skills & energy

Really enjoyed visiting this massive tomato farm near Southport, they grow all year round under LED lights, have beehives for pollination, IPM, grow 1/4 of a billion a year …and love what they do! Tmw’s #onyourfarm Farming Today with fab producer @Salchall Flavourfresh Salads Ltd.

The heather on the moors of the Hope Valley is just starting to bloom now, and it’s a beautiful sight, particularly under the colours of a vivid sky. My eye was caught by this little pyramid rock on Higger Tor and the last evening sunbeams above that seemed to mirror its shape.

A young snake bark maple that we planted this summer with the most beautiful bark even as a youngster Acer davidii ‘Viper’ hardy with an excellent rate of growth, the fresh green leaves of summer turn a golden yellow in the autumn.
