PD at its BEST! STEM team building, New Language Cur Math learning, CLI and Kid Talk. Thank you Janine Olsen πΌπ«ππ«π πΏπͺπ£π¨ππππ§ @melissaSilvestri and our Hillcrest School team for engaging in the learning!

The best part about this is when the LRT told me that her brother picked her up after school today and all she could talk about was the reading & writing that she did. A good reminder about the risk-taking & confidence component to these literacy skills! β€οΈ cc Maria Marino (she/her/elle)

Tonight, I'm looking back at these four videos by Susan Hopkins, EdD. While the audience is "early childhood educators," I think that the message extends beyond that. So worth a watch! Such important reminders in here. pathstonementalhealth.ca/pathstonetv/drβ¦. cc Maria Marino (she/her/elle)

A child who's struggled with attendance since September has come every day for over 2 weeks. Today he told me, "I am coming because of this reading group." He has peers in here. He's meeting with success. On my hardest days,I need to remember this. My heart is full! β€οΈ Maria Marino (she/her/elle)

Students were motivated to write to Julie Bishop-Dove for snack program requests. Love these authentic opportunities to read & write. They loved the banana that you gave them for their notes. β€οΈ

I loved this coding idea that Jennifer Angle shared today. Could this be a way to link coding with reading and writing, even the reading and writing of some of the #UFLI lessons taught. Hmmm β¦ Thanks for the inspiration, Jenn!
