The House Energy & Commerce Committee released a proposal that would slash #Medicaid funding by $715 billion, with an estimated 8.6 million people losing coverage with no access to affordable health insurance options. We urge members to reject these cuts. fightcancer.org/releases/house…

Sen. Josh Hawley - you recognize the critical importance of Medicaid for Missourians without access to other affordable insurance. Cancer patients & their families urge you to #ProtectMedicaid & reject any proposals that would reduce access to health care. nytimes.com/2025/05/12/opi…

Tens of thousands of American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network advocates urged the House Energy & Commerce Committee to reconsider Medicaid cuts that impact millions. Despite this, lawmakers who voted for these cuts chose to support the loss of health coverage for those with no other affordable options.

I strongly urge these lawmakers to listen to their constituents and reconsider their stance as this bill advances. We ask Congress to remove these life-threatening cuts before the bill moves forward and if cuts are not removed to oppose. #ProtectMedicaid

1/3 The House passed a bill cutting Medicaid funding by an est. $715 billion. If approved by the Senate, these cuts will raise health care costs, negatively impact state budgets & deny affordable health care to at least 8.6M people, according to the Congressional Budget Office.

Lisa Lacasse (@llacasseacscan) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2/3 The bill accelerates implementation of work requirements to Dec. 2026, putting vulnerable people at risk of losing coverage in critical moments of their treatment plans. The majority of recipients who can work already do & work requirements have repeatedly failed in states.

3/3 Punishing those with serious illnesses like cancer by cutting their health care will only lead to worse health outcomes and increased costs. American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network urges the Senate to reject these harmful cuts and stand up for those who depend on #Medicaid for their survival.

#Medicaid cuts have consequences. Senator Eric Schmitt and Josh Hawley, can we count on you to reject cuts and #ProtectMedicaid? These are real lives on the line. Cancer patients, children, seniors, working families and more shouldn't be left without the care they depend on.
