Harry Brook is the first non-keeper to do the double of 50 and 5 catches in an ODI; Jonty Rhodes is the only other to take 5 catches, and he scored 40 in that match. Only five keepers have achieved it; Adam Gilchrist did so twice, including one instance of 50 and six catches.

Number 11 top scoring in an ODI is very rare. Not sure of the exact number of cases, but Peter Ongondo did it for Kenya v WI in 2001 and Shoaib Akhtar v England in the 2003 WC. There are at least two further cases, by Joel Garner and Naseem Shah, where they were joint top scorer.

A 19th century cricket ball showing the three seams used to sow together the four quarters ... more options for the bowlers or more confusion?!

In 1929 a law change saw the size of the stumps increased by 1" in height and width in an attempt to redress the balance between bat and ball. The lbw law was also amended. The larger (28"x 9") stumps were used in Championship matches that summer and in Tests from 1932
