Part of the early college football reforms was the banning of “mass momentum plays” Rugby mauls, latches and what we calling this old school beauty.

If you’re going to take one like this, the old “cheers” and massive smile is the way to deal with it. Also, probably thinking about how you going to get BBQed in film from the boys.

Wheels!! Now that we got your attention. How do we make, officials and referees a good option and a transition choice for former players to stay involved in the game.

Scrumming is rugby skill but key learning for football Extension is power but the feet must be able to catch up or you overextend. Too many athletes end up in an “all or nothing” situation when they extend massively- big hit but lose ability to follow through or stay connected.

Old school rugby was wild! Like really wild! Opening kick of the 91 World Cup. Fun note, rugby only went professional in 95. The performance, science, ability and athlete rocket ship is crazy when you think it’s so “young”

If you want to work on something, make it the focus instead of dumbing it down. Don’t make it the easier, make them have to do it. If the drill is accelerate and drive or get stuck on the line, they will really fight to drive…..and learn how

In honor of draft day. Player eval of a teammate and why he will do well at highest level. Also love the nod, “yep, totally get you” because I wasn’t sure where this was going.

Widely considered the best Chop (low) tackler in rugby there are some great learnings. Specificity the shot timing. Recognizes when it’s time to pull the trigger and ends the play. Also chops are not cuts, always working the arms and clamp.
