When I started working Wimbledon over 20+years ago all the offices has plants. They were seen as to much of a strain on resource and cost and were gradually removed. Finally we are beginning to bring them back for office staff to enjoy and reap the benefits.

Great effort from the team today to get Court 8, scarified, oversown & fertilised, I was going to help but it looks like they’ve got it covered #SpringPrep

Got in to work today and someone said “I’ve hit a birdie” I replied “wrong sport” but then noticed what they meant, I followed up by asking “Do you feel down?” They replied “I would but it keeps flying away” anyway enough about our quackers morning

It’s not been the greatest weather to start the year and that meant a delay to our opening of the grass courts but I can’t thank the team enough for the effort and commitment they’ve put in to get us to today and finally opening for members #Wimbledon

After being on and off social media last year we’re aiming to get back up and running in 2024. This week we’ve been able to get back on top of the mowing and get all courts back to 13mm and today we’re spraying a preventative fungicide ahead of potential snow next week.

To celebrate #nationalapprenticeshipweek this week we’ll be talking with our two new apprentices Jack murphy and Oli Younger to discuss what made them want to take an apprentice role in grounds and how they are finding it being the first ever grounds apprentices at Wimbledon
