Very dignified and interesting farewell symposium of VP Research Christian Wolfrum in the Semper Aula at ETH Zurich Zürich today🥂🎓🧳

🎙 New Episode Out! In this episode, we had the pleasure of talking with Alexander Harms researcher and professor at ETH Zürich, about a well-known resource in phage biology: the Basel Phage Collection. Listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/3ndSV6…

Thrilled to share my first PhD paper, out of the Mazel lab! Didier Mazel We discovered that accessory peptide deformylases (PDFs) are widespread in bacteria and may provide resistance to natural inhibitors, posing a challenge to future antibiotic strategies. doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…

Excited to see our work published in Science Advances! We present RBPseg, a method for structural prediction of #phage receptor-binding proteins. We applied it to diverse tail fibers and validated the predicted structures using #cryoEM. Read here: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Now published in the June issue Nature Neuroscience I am especially happy that the artwork my 4-year-old son created (with a little help) was chosen for the cover. #Glial cells in diverse hues as paint splotches, CD8+ #Tcells in red, aberrant #myelin in purple. Thanks Elisa Floriddia & co!

Fantastic retreat of NCCR AntiResist this year - strong science, great company, and wonderful nature! 🧬🍹🏞️

Latest BREX story from the lab - turns out there is a nuclease after all! Congrats to Jenny Readshaw and the whole team, including wonderful collabs Barry Stoddard, Brett Kaiser and Darren Smith. Nucleic Acids Res New England Biolabs Durham BioSciences academic.oup.com/nar/article/53…
