Announcement for SMFM peeps: Brown ObGynResidency/Women & Infants has been approved for a 6th MFM fellow!! We hope to add another 1st year MFM fellow, starting Aug 1. By June 3, candidates should send: PS, 3 LOR (1 from PD), MSPE/Med school transcript, & USMLE Scores to [email protected].

Reading fellowship applications is a TON of work (we read and independently score every. single. candidate.). But, above all, "meeting" future MFMs is absolutely inspiring. Many of these rising chiefs have the potential to move the needle in big, big ways.

Had a few papers that were submitted as full manuscripts be rejected as manuscripts but invited to be resubmitted research letters. Shouldn't complain, but it does hurt a little to delete all those words...

Really impressed by Brock E. Polnaszek, MD MPH(c) and the other graduating fellows from Women & Infants and Brown ObGynResidency. Tonight, they presented their thesis projects. Each study was elegantly done, with clear direction towards clinically meaningful next steps. Congrats!

Back from Norway. Talked OB leave with local: they must stop work at 37w0d. PP leave start @ birth, each parent gets ~16 weeks, then 16 more weeks split between parents (all of this 100% paid), &, if desired, can get rest of year @ 80% salary. Embarrassed to explain our PP leave.
