Re: AUKUS, a sticking point is that Canberra hasn't made an explicit commitment to use nuclear-powered attack subs in a war with China. I don't know why one is needed. One can keep China guessing. Australia has reason to be wary of emboldening the US. ft.com/content/4a9355…

Very pleased to contribute to the Council on Geostrategy ongoing discussion of Britain's new Strategic Defence Review. I examine it from Ottawa's perspective. Despite the lack of attention it gets in Canada, the SDR matters for it because the two allies face the same considerations.

I can't help but think of how MAGA was angry at Biden giving Ukraine weapons in 2022 because of "escalation", "World War III", and "nuclear war" when now we have the MAGA President bombing nuclear sites in Iran just five months into his term. Such dishonesty all around.
