The Lower East Side was alive with rhythm, pride, and community spirit at the 2nd Annual @elgritoorg Puerto Rican Day Parade & Festival! Thank you to elGritodeLES , Lilah Mejia and all of the incredible partners for bringing together neighbors to celebrate.

We cut the shelter rent tax! Joined @harveyforny, @briankavanaghny, Brad Hoylman-Sigal 🌈🥯, and Mitchell-Lama residents to celebrate our win in this year’s budget to cut the shelter rent tax by 50% and provide new capital funding to Mitchell-Lama developments.

We shredded it on the Lower East Side earlier this month! Great to partner with NYC Sanitation on another incredibly successful free paper shredding event. Thanks to everyone who came out to safely dispose of their documents - cutting clutter and identity theft! ✂️

What helps the Lower East Side thrive? It’s the amazing advocates who give back to this neighborhood. We honored Alejandro Epifanio freaky frige Grauven Olivares, and Sonia Quinones at our second annual Rhythms of LES, celebrating the incredible work they do to support our LES community.

.Governor Kathy Hochul has signed A8676 into law! This legislation renews & expands key business relocation incentives, including LM-REAP. Special thanks to State Senator Andrew Gounardes for his partnership on this bill to keep NY competitive & make commercial revitalization across our city possible.
