Really interesting study - reduction of antibiotic consumption will not be sufficient to control antimicrobial resistance because contagion—the spread of resistant strains and resistance genes—seems to be the dominant contributing factor.

Watching Chris Packham “Animal’s Guide to Britain” 😡 First arable and livestock “farmers” are lambasted for ruining hare habitat, then in next segment he says “humans” have helped save barn owl with nesting boxes. Come on BBC have some oversight and ensure balanced reporting!

Another from The Independent on my 'news' feed: "Supporting the dairy industry inflicts more pain on cows than you know. And yes, that includes drinking their milk". I wonder if the author has ever visited a high welfare dairy farm? Is it 'journalism' if you don't investigate?

Implementing a national #Rabies elimination strategy is a long-term process which involves many different actors. In order to best accompany countries’ effort to eliminate the disease, the OIE puts in place various programmes: #WorldRabiesDay #Zeroby30

Did you know, the first @Bristol_Vets graduating class in 1954 had 17 men and 6 women? How times have changed in the #veterinary profession - 150 students now, 79% women. Exciting talks by AMR Force to Dairy Science Forum today.

Great to see so many Dairy Science Forum members at the AMR Force research presentations today. Good to have the opportunity to network with such a broad range of #dairy professionals. x.com/dsfcows/status…

10% of people carry #MRSA within their intestines. May be safer to stand next to a #dairy cow than to a stranger on a tube! Great talk by Matthew Avison at the AMR Force research presentations to Dairy Science Forum.

“Awareness doesn’t always lead to behavioural change.” We all know this (how many eat their five-per-day fruit/veg or only have a few glasses of wine per week?) but how do we improve awareness of #antimicrobial resistance within the #dairy industry? Kristen Reyher for AMR Force.

Do you know just how many ways there are to measure #antimicrobial use in #dairy production? Seventeen - or maybe more! Get the scoop from AMR Force before the open-access runs out: veterinaryrecord.bmj.com/content/vetrec… #antibiotic #AMR Kristen Reyher Prof. David Barrett 🇺🇦
