Dr. Arjun K. Karki from RRN : #LDCs, #LLDCs, #SIDS face deep structural disadvantages. What we need is a just & inclusive international financial architecture that supports systemic reform and tackles root causes.

David Archer from ActionAid criticised “It’s not a debt crisis for the IMF unless creditors stop getting paid. We must dismantle this colonial logic & support a UN-led sovereign debt mechanism.”

Manjette Lopez Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC) reminded, “The Philippines has an automatic appropriation law, & debt servicing is prioritized. Last year, $1.5 tn was paid in debt service.” On the other hand, in Pakistan, 47% of 2025/26 budget is for debt servicing,” said Farooq Tariq

Ian Rivera from Philippine Movement for Climate Justice Batangas criticised Compromiso de Sevilla for failing to clearly call for ➡️Public, additional, non-debt-creating finance ➡️Just & equitable transition from fossil to renewables We need climate finance, not empty pledges. #ClimateJustice

Jane Nalunga Jane Nalunga, Executive Director SEATINI UGANDA @SEATINIUGANDA stated that unilateral policies (e.g., EU deforestation law, carbon markets) pose new threats, and we must fight for a fair, inclusive, and predictable system with people and planet at the center.
