I welcome the release of Khalid Omar Yousif Khalid Omer Yousif, Muhammad al-Faki محمد الفكي سليمان, Babikar Faisal, Wajda Salih وجدي صالح Wagdi Salih, Taha Osman and others. Their release eventually follows the decision by the responsible judge that there are no grounds for their detention.

Sudan's war risks triggering the world's largest hunger crisis across the region. Humanitarian need is growing, yet conflict makes delivering assistance at scale impossible. Thank you Vicky Ford APPG for Sudan & South Sudan Chair, for keeping attention on this forgotten crisis.

It is increasingly clear that a full scale RSF attack on El Fasher will likely occur very soon (hours/days, not weeks/months) without any meaningful international intervention. Nobody can say they didn’t know. No one. A thread 🧵1/5:

RSF assault on El Fasher in Darfur puts at risk hundreds of thousands of lives. The pattern of atrocities is clear. Today I called again for concerted pressure, day after day, for immediate ceasefire and sustainable peace. This crisis must not be ignored. #KeepEyesOnSudan

Following the horrifying evidence we've heard, we're calling for clarity on Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office's action on the humanitarian situation in #Sudan Sarah Champion Read more here: committees.parliament.uk/committee/98/i…

Utterly appalled by the killing in South Darfur 🇸🇩 of two ICRC staff, and injuring of three more. Aid workers are not targets. Those responsible for this heinous act must be held to account.

El Fasher, Darfur is on the precipice of a large-scale massacre. I urge armed actors to de-escalate and protect civilians at all costs. The RSF must lift its siege of the city. The SAF must protect critical infrastructure. There will be direct and immediate consequences for those

🚨We are gravely concerned by the imminent mass atrocity risks facing the 1.5 million people in and around El Fasher. The US has rightly drawn a red line warning of direct & immediate consequences for those responsible for an offensive on El Fasher —the UK must do the same🚨

Tonight we hosted an emergency roundtable with Peace Direct & Lyn Brown 🌹 on the need for atrocity prevention efforts in Sudan🚨 There's an imminent risk of catastrophe in El Fasher. The UK must assert immediate consequences for those responsible & explore all protective options

Hugely relieved Lyn Brown 🌹 has secured a UQ on what the Governments response needs to be in the face of atrocities in El Fasher, #Sudan. We need to see much more being done with urgency to de-escalate the horrors Protection Approaches International Development Committee

More than a million civilians are under immediate threat in El Fasher, Sudan. Today I brought the Government to Parliament to press them towards stronger action. Our voice needs to be heard loud and clear in the very hours when this atrocity is underway. youtu.be/EGsyFEpGmB8

Sudan is on the brink of a highly dangerous escalation of violence. The situation in El Fasher is appalling, with destruction of hospitals and horrific casualties. This must end. We are stepping up our diplomatic efforts and doing all we can to save lives.

Inside the Sudanese city besieged by rebels. Famine is looming in the government's last holdout, as intense fighting continues. “If El Fasher fell, it would be a human disaster. There would be no life for us here in Darfur as African people.” telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…
