This #corn field in central Arkansas that I went by today is about as uniform as your going to find. Recent warm/hot temps has really pushed growth the last 10 days. Many corn fields are off to a good start! #arcrops

Part of a wheat vernalization demonstration we had from a county agent training this spring. Center green plot plot was planted Feb 28 (did not vernalize) adjacent plots were planted in October (normal planting date). Same variety. Soft red winter wheat #arcrops

#Corn harvest is in full swing this week in the south half of #Arkansas with ideal harvest weather. Strong yields so far. More widespread harvest will start next week in NE Arkansas. #arcrops #harvest23

Seeing lots of lemon-yellow #corn across the state this week. Recent cool temps is likely the largest contributing factor. Not a signal of lack of nutrients.

A fungal disease that can cause yield loss in #corn has been found in #Arkansas. While it has been active in the Midwest since 2015, tar spot has never been confirmed in commercial Arkansas agriculture. Learn more at bit.ly/Ark-tar-spot-f…. @AgInArk

Lots of calls about whether #corn will stand back up after raised beds have eroded from recent heavy rains. Short answer is no in many cases. Where first support roots should develop is now above the soil surface, so roots won’t form. Plants will eventually die. #replant25
