Active Week kicked off on Monday the 7th with great energy in our school. The Active School Flag team launched the week by organizing a rounders tournament for all 5th-year and students from the Brosna Centre to join in the fun with individual challenges and an obstacle course

On Thursday, a football tournament was run by the Young Social Innovators class in the school. Multiple teams consisting of 1st and 2nd years took part in a hotly contested knockout competition to raise money for St Vincent de Paul. A huge thank you to all those who took part.

On our return after the Easter Holidays we have Positivity Week to look forward to. There will be activities for the students of our schools, parents and all of our community. Please support and join in

Our 6th year Biology students had an amazing day at Dublin Zoo for their Ecology Workshop! 🧪🌱 They completed practical and field work– measuring abiotic factors, carrying out transects, identifying plant and animal species, and getting hands-on with real-world ecology.

Thank you to The Parents Association for providing Easter Eggs for everyone in our school. We enjoyed egg and spoon races, scavenger hunts, tournaments and count the eggs in the jar. Even the Easter Bunny made an appearance. Happy Easter to all from the Parents Association 🐰

Ms. Roisin Byrne from Agri Aware gave an engaging workshop to TY students on farm safety, covering PPE, machinery handling, and the importance of signage. A valuable session that raised awareness of the risks and responsibilities of farm work. #FarmSafety #AgriAware

Today, the ASCN  Green Schools team took part in a community litter pick around Clara town and the local graveyard, working alongside the Clara Tidy Towns Committee. The team of enthusiastic litter pickers did a fantastic job helping to keep the area clean and looking its best.

Brosna 3 students visited St. Brigid’s Credit Union Clara as part of the Cluedin programme. They were given a tour of the offices and met with manager Michael Kelly who gave them loads of information about the Credit Union. They were also treated to a CU goodie bag.

Well done to our group of TY students who recently spent 4 weeks completing a Sports Leadership Program organized by Offaly Sports Partnership. The program consisted of both theoretical and practical elements.

Last week a group of 2nd year students visited Technological University of the Shannon Athlone. They had a wonderful day experiencing what it would be like to go to a 3rd level college. Students began their day in the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Department

   Congratulations to our TY and Brosna students that recently completed the Cluedin Financial Awareness programme. Students learned about how to manage their money and also what products and services are on offer from their local credit union.
