There is only one moral response to Hamas’ horrific, atrocious terrorist attacks in Israel: unequivocal and forceful condemnation. There is never, ever any justification for terrorism against innocent civilians. Anywhere. Full stop. It’s unfathomable that many argue otherwise.

Congratulations Alexandra Santos for your tireless and expert effort leading this working group, of which I am immensely proud and grateful to be a very small part.

I’ve been searching for a response to the brokenness of our world and, not finding anything suitable to say, have been quiet. Harari’s call to “make an effort to empathize with all suffering humans […] to help maintain a space for peace” resonates. May it one day be so. 🕊️☮️✌🏻

The clinical prediction of food allergy reaction severity remains challenging. New data suggest that tryptase genotyping could be useful as a biomarker of patients with food allergy who are at risk for life-threatening reactions. Read on. bit.ly/3PMPSd2

A survey of thousands of US academics has found that the number one reason that women leave faculty positions is poor “workplace climate”, which can encompass discrimination, dysfunctional leadership, a feeling of not fitting in and other problems. More: go.nature.com/46ZGmtU

Very proud to have been a part of this international team evaluating peanut OIT in preschoolers - in my opinion the very highest and best use of this therapy. So much so that we have developed an early treatment program Children's that is changing lives today.

Brian Vickery (@atlergist) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Repeat after me: early OIT is the best OIT. In some kids you may even be able to modify disease progression…see in this study how the IgE levels rise in the placebo but not active group 👀

Come see us! We want to evaluate infants with eczema and/or food allergy(ies) as soon as we can. Treatments started early in life provide the best benefit! Learn more and make an appointment today at choa.org/foodallergy

This changes everything. 20 years after proof of concept for anti-IgE in food allergy, we now have an available treatment. Extremely proud of the 10 teams around the country who did this work, and incredibly grateful to the brave participants. wsj.com/health/pharma/…

(sticks head up out of foxhole) Is it still a partisan clickbait hellscape out here masquerading as “free speech?” Thinking about a small scale reengagement deleting nearly all but a few follows…I miss the utility but not the outrage. Advice?

This should be front page news. We have effective medicines for asthma - the most common reason for childhood hospitalization - & kids don’t have access to them anymore. Because of business decisions made by companies. And kids are literally unnecessarily suffering & dying.
