The event kicks off shortly in Addis Ababa, bringing together key stakeholders to chart the path from strategy to implementation. Finally, the Ethiopian Government, led by its Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration, is holding a workshop to validate and launch its AfCFTA implementation strategy, which was developed with the support of ⁦ECA⁩ ⁦ECA | African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC)⁩ & the Policy Studies Institute.

🎤 Opening the workshop, H.E. Yasmin Wohabrebbi, State Minister at Ethiopian MinistryofTrade and Regional Integration, welcomed participants & emphasized national ownership, inclusive development, & Ethiopia’s commitment to turning AfCFTA promises into real economic gains. 🇪🇹

Great conversations in Dublin, Ireland, at #AITH2025. I was part of a great panel on shaping trade for mutual prosperity. In my intervention, I spoke about what Ireland can do with Africa at 3 levels — Ireland as Ireland, Ireland as an EU member, and Ireland as a member the WTO.

Ireland Minister of State for Int’l Dev’t and the Diaspora, Neale Richmond, in his opening address at the conference, made several powerful points, including “Africa is the future” and calling the African private sector to look at Ireland as “your gateway to the EU”.

Mt y participation in this important event was made possible thanks to the tireless efforts of Irish Amb. Olivia Leslie, Ambassador Olivia Leslie, and her team in Addis Ababa.

The study group would be a platform for a multistakeholder dialogue and think tanking aimed at strengthening Africa's economic integration, boosting Japan's understanding of the continent and fostering economic partnerships in alignment with the AfCFTA.

The 28th Annual Conference on Global Economic Analysis begins in #Kigali, focusing on Accelerating Economic Transformation, Resilience, Diversification, and Job Creation. Kigali is the third African city to host, after #Nairobi and Addis Ababa. #EconomicGrowth Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP)
