Our Associate Director, Hannah Antoniades, kicked off the day. A brighter future is ahead with the NHS’s commitment to improve mental health care, putting it on level footing with psychical health services. #AWP

Heather Bell (@crnwestengland) echoed the importance of research, drawing upon her own experiences of #research participation in a moving opening talk outlining major quality of life improvements research has given way to for her family. #MentalHealth #BePartofReseach #AWP

Monalisa Bora-White (Team manager) and David Woodley (R&D project officer) shared their reflections of the last year 💭 Our portfolio has shifted towards more interventional studies, offering interventional treatments to service users and carers. #AWP #Research #MentalHealth

We have been able to grow and expand our team, offering new skills and perspectives to support these studies 🔎 David Woodley outlined recent project work we are working on to raise the profile of #research in #AWP🙌

Professor Dheeraj Rai discussed current #autism #research in #AWP, highlighting STRATA, ADEPT-2 and SoPrIA. The STRATA RCT- anxiety in autism study study team then took the stage discussing the motivations and barriers for autistic adults taking part in Randomised Control Trials (RCTs). #AWP

One of the most moving parts of the day was our service user panel discussion on their experience of taking part in research 💬 A key theme was trust - they felt taking part in #research was a way of giving back to those who had aided their #recovery 🤝 #AWP #MentalHeath

Our parallel sessions highlighted project work within the team to raise the profile of research in AWP 📋 Sessions focused on understanding the NHS evidence base, improving inclusivity of research in AWP and embedding research into health and care professionals within #AWP
