Happy International Women's Day!Today I reflect on all the women who went before me and walked beside me. I am grateful for the love and support extended.I also look ahead to the women who will follow-particularly my granddaughters. Girls you have more opportunity than ever!

Yesterday the name of City of Hope was placed on our new cancer specialty hospital in Irvine, opening in late 2025. It seems impossible that it’s been just six years since we first accepted the invite from #EmileHaddad and #FivePoint to come to OC. #HopeFirst

Today is a historic day for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. City of Hope has received a $150 million gift from entrepreneur and philanthropist A. Emmet Stephenson Jr. and Tessa Stephenson Brand to immediately fund pancreatic cancer research. bit.ly/3XJXEJJ

Today is one of those days when I am so proud to work in healthcare. Whether it be lending a hand across organizations, losing sleep, or leaving their own homes at risk, WORKING TOGETHER FOR OUR PATIENTS IS THE MISSION & comes first. Thanks to you & to all SoCal 1st responders.

A moment of quiet beauty and reflection as we passed through St. Peter’s Square. It is worth a listen. Rome is preparing.

📍 ROME, ITALY The presence of the Church is palpable. There are more than 900 churches. Sit w/ them & you will see centuries of devotion & sacred craftsmanship. It leaves you w/ a quiet awareness that you are part of something older & bigger than yourself. #PilgrimageToRome

The pope carries responsibility for 1.3 billion people. He is called to hold the spiritual coherence of the global Church. Let us pray for the one who will say yes to this sacred responsibility.  The first vote is in: No Papa tonight.   #PilgrimagetoRome

We’re sharing the space with some 80,000 in the heat & cold, but humors are good & spirits are friendly. There is a strong and loud reaction as soon as the smoke is visible. If this is the reaction to black smoke, I can’t wait to see what happens when it’s white! Stay tuned!

This pilgrimage ends for us the way this Jubilee year began. Pope Francis proclaimed 2025 a Jubilee with the Papal Bull entitled, “Spes non confundit” - Hope Does Not Disappoint. Well, so far he was right. We could not have hoped for more.   Buen Camino #PilgrimagetoRome
