Had a great time teaching live-cell STED at the #EMBLSuperResolution workshop! Great organization from Marko and Ulf Leica Microsystems and all the other ones involved - and also great participants :) Now off to my first ever in person conference #CoronaPhD! Looking forward to GRC!

In the other pre-print biorxiv.org/content/10.110… Alexander Stockhammer and Petia could show that rather than via long-range vesicular transport, the Golgi and endosomes communicate via tubular-vesicular ARF1 compartments!

🎉 Excited to present the first paper from the lab Universität Potsdam! Here we give a detailed step-by-step introduction into correlative light and replica EM👇 Analyzing the cellular plasma membrane by fast and efficient correlative STED and platinum replica EM frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

🔬Ever wanted to spy on your model system? 🕵️♂️ Now you can! With bio-orthogonal chemical labeling, we've unlocked the ability to capture transient cellular events. 🌟 Dive in our study in Science Magazine: science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… A 🧵 1/15

Nice preprint from Koret Hirschberg describes photoswitching FRET and shows interactions of Rab1b with GRASP65 and VSVG at the ER-Golgi interface. Using Photoswitching FRET to Define the Interaction Boundaries between the Rab1b GTPase and Secretory Cargo biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

We developed a new super-stable RFP for advanced microscopy, like CLEM, Rapid tissue clearing, Live 3D-SIM and live STED. Read this #preprint on Research Square: mYongHong: a structure-guided design of stable and monomeric red fluorescent protein researchsquare.com/article/rs-471…

💫NEW: @fran_bottanelli, Alexander Stockhammer, Petia Adarska & co describe ARF1 compartments as the site of adaptor- and clathrin-dependent post-#Golgi sorting. Department Biology, Chemistry, Pharmacy FU Berlin Freie Universität nature.com/articles/s4155…

Now plasmids for mYongHong (aka mScarlet-3H), an extremely stable RFP from Zhifei Fu lab, are available from WeKwikGene absolutely for free (wekwikgene.wllsb.edu.cn/plasmids?searc…). mYongHong is particularly useful for long-term super-resolution live cell imaging in combination with mBaoJin

Please join us for the #DGZ Focus Workshop on #MembraneTrafficking & #EVs, next Tuesday, 29.10. at noon, organized by Francesca Bottanelli & Kerstin Menck, featuring talks by Kerstin Menck, Frederik Verweij, Agata Witkowska & Jieqiong Gao (Postdoc @UngermannLab)⬇️

Registration is open for the 2025 iteration of the wonderful EMBO Events workshop on cell polarity and membrane dynamics #EMBOcellPolarity25 I am organizing with Ed Munro! Wonderful lineup wonderful please sign up and RT meetings.embo.org/event/25-cell-…
