Yesterday I presented a $2 Million check to Lucero Elementary & The Walton Ave School for a cooking and gardening space! The space will continue the hands on cooking and gardening education brought to the students by EdibleSchoolyardNYC Can’t wait to try the produce from the school garden!

TY Councilwoman Althea Stevens for visiting the BronxWorks Carolyn McLaughlin Community Center! The Councilwoman visited with our seniors and toured our early childhood learning center, our gym, indoor pool, and other programs. We are grateful for our ongoing partnership.

I presented SCAN-Harbor with a $25,000 check for their continuous operation of Rev. T Wendell Foster Recreation Center in D16! Thank you for investing in this public center and pouring into our community through sports, a girls advisory group and addressing food insecurity!

Today my office joined the office of Chantel Jackson, LMSW and Assembly Member Landon Dais in cleaning up our community on Webster Ave & 168th St. Thank you to the community members who came out to. Our collective efforts are essential in keeping our community clean and safe!

Congratulations to our 2024 WNBA champs, the New York Liberty! 🗽 Adrienne Adams and Council Members presented the team with a proclamation to celebrate their historic win. The Council passed a resolution to designate every October 20th as New York Liberty Day in NYC! 🎉

I recently spoke at a #JustPay | Human Services Council of New York event where I asked the crowd "how many of you are owed money by the city?" and the entire room raised their hands. It's insane and it's hurting New Yorkers. From me and Althea Stevens cityandstateny.com/opinion/2024/1…

I know procurement isn’t the sexiest topic but it is an important one… We need to fix the system to ensure organizations are being paid for the services they provide to our city. My colleague Justin Brannan takes this issue very serious.
