NIRA held a meeting with the Visa team on the sidelines of #ID4Africa2025, focusing on upgrading the eAqoonsi platform into a unified digital ecosystem for public & private services. Discussions also covered DPI assessments, private sector engagement, and global best practices.

1/3: A high-level Somali delegation led by NIRA Director General, Abdiweli Timacade, is undertaking an official study tour to the Philippines. The delegation was formally received by Assistant Secretary Rosalinda P. Bautista, Deputy National Statistician at the PSA.

Today, NIRA DG & DDG welcomed Mr. Abdinasir Ibrahim, Secretary-General of the Upper House of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, and Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed, DG of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry. They discussed enhancing collaboration and linking public services to the National ID.

A 5-day training session has kicked off in 🇰🇪 focused on identity verification & legal movement of people. It was opened by our DG, alongside Mr. Mustafa Sheikh from the Immigration Directorate 🇸🇴, Mrs. Evelyne Cheluguet from Kenya Immigration, & Muhyaddin Osman from the 🇸🇴 CID.

Participants include officials from NIRA, Somalia and Kenya's Immigration Authorities, and the Somali CID. This initiative, supported by Norway, aims to strengthen cooperation among the region in enhancing border security and combating cross-border crimes using modern technology.
