Our chair, Diana Rayes, PhD MHS, was featured on CNN calling in from Hama, Syria to discuss the challenges faced by NGOs operating in newly liberated areas in Syria (formerly government-controlled) who have been closed off from the world and operating with last-resort resources.

After 14 years, I returned to Hama - the birthplace of my parents and the homebase of my entire extended family. Familiar corners bring waves of nostalgia, but the weight of time and change is undeniable. The most significant change? Signs of freedom everywhere.

As someone from Hama, your words deeply resonate with me. The stillness, resilience, and untold struggles of this city are etched into every corner. Thank you for capturing these moments and shedding light on a history and present that must not be forgotten.
