P4-7 have been creating dioramas linked to their topic in Africa. The children chose an African ecosystem and built it within their box. Next week we will be using these to create stop motion animations!🏜️🌍🦛🦒🐪

P1-3 where being taught a writing lesson by Miss Sangster today. The children did some research about Sloths, linking to their rainforest topic, and wrote some sentences with facts they found out. The children did their best with their sound knowledge and VCOP!📝🦥 PKC Learning and Teaching

The children all got to plant their own sunflower seeds today! They all helped fill their pots with soil, plant their seed and write their name on a tag. The sunflowers were popped into some planters (still to be finished painted) and we will watch them grow up the wall.🌼🪴☀️💦

The children helped build some “no-dig” planters this afternoon. They ensured they were staying safe while using nails and hammers, they practiced their measuring skills and learnt how to layer a raised bed. Looking forward to nurturing them and planting vegetables in them!🌱🥬🥕

Today we planted our vegetable seeds and gave them a good watering. The children made some drills and were very delicate when popping the seeds into them. We even opened our compost bins and to our amazement we had our own fresh compost to top up the beds! Super teamwork!🧑🏼‍🌾🪴🥬

An afternoon of hedgehog activities. We found a spot within our hedgehog haven for our new hedgehog house and made it inviting by putting some food outside it. Then we created new bug hotels to attract more bugs for the hedgehogs to eat.🦔🐌🐛🕷️ Hedgehog Friendly Campus Hedgehog Society

P4-7 had an excellent afternoon with one of our visiting specialist parents who is an Environmental Data Scientist. The children took charge of their own learning by gathering data linked to a nature based topic question of their choice.🔍📊🌳🐦‍⬛🪴 STEM @ Education Scotland STEM Scotland
