New preprint! Congrats to Alison Farrar for superb work on turning "ribosome maps" into a way to detect #antibioticresistance quickly! One more fruit from our "collaborative tree" (with Christoffer Nellaker & Nicole Stoesser ModMedMicro) planted using Oxford Martin School seeds!

Self-quenched fluorophores attached to short DNA labels increase signal/resolution and reduce background in DNA-PAINT and DNA-STED. We are glad that this follow-up story (more fluors) is now out in JPC. Thank you The Journal of Physical Chemistry and our great Editor Julie Biteen 🙏 Goethe-Universität

The buzz is still on! We had an A-M-A-Z-I-N-G time at SMolBac3 - exciting discoveries, cool new methods, lively debate at a Cotswolds setting. Thanks to all who joined and CU in 2-3 years for IV! 👍👍 Biochemical Society for co-organising!

So happy to see this AMR-related story from our 3-way collab!! Huge congrats to Alison + team, and thanks to Oxford Martin School.bsky.social for supporting it. Basic idea: deep "learning" ribosome distributions after antibiotic treatment rapidly classifies cells as resistant or not.
