Some important points: New and young people should stick to mutual funds and SIPs Gold and Silver should be a part of portfolio Do not try to earn quick money through F&O Amazing work done by Mint & Neil Borate

Rightly pointed out Neil. Just looking at the fact sheet or website while comparing the expense ratio of FoF can be misleading.

Yesterday SBI cut its savings a/c rate cut to 2.5%. Lowest in history, it seems. Except for bare minimum transaction balance, why keep any money in a bank? Liquid/debt funds are there!

Neil Borate With savings account rates now at 2.5%, your idle money is silently losing value to inflation Keep only what’s needed for emergencies and transactions in your savings account, the rest should be working for you

Neil Borate Yes, I remember listening on to radio/aakashwani till year 2004. My mother daily used to listen to aakashwani porgrams and songs despite having TV. She used to find Aakashwani as inquisitive over TV and personal connect with presenter. Now she doesn't follow it

Client: How much corpus do I need to retire? Advisor: About 33 times your expenses at age 60. Client: And early retirement? Advisor: 'x' times your current expenses, where x = no of retirement yrs. If you retire at 50 & live till 90, you need 40x. This is the rule of thumb. This

Neil Borate Good one. Unless one has a huge corpus and hence can afford a low withdrawal rate, for the >95% population a 60:40 or 50:50 allocation with a 2 to 3% withdrawal should get them over the line.

Neil Borate Well explained.👍🏼 IMO Sequence of Return risk is the elephant in the room but still invisible to most considering retirement.

Today Shipra Singh Sorout writes about TDS. If you advertise on social media, you need to deduct TDS. But platforms like Meta want the full amount (not amt net of TDS). So you pay from your pocket & then ask them to reimburse. Tough world for small biz. livemint.com/money/personal…

Pathetic technicality by Ministry of Finance I have personally lost lakhs due to non reimbursement of TDS by Flipkart, Meta etc They should remove TDS on such payments!

What a beautiful story… Thank you for sharing this gem. Please convey our warm regards to your aunt — her voice was a part of India’s collective memory, and still echoes in our hearts. 💖 And do request your aunt to listen to Akashvani. At Akashvani, we still broadcast culture,

Rajaram Neil Borate You nailed it. Most folks chase returns and lose sleep. Keep it steady, 2-3% withdrawal, balanced split—retirement's meant for peace, not stress.

My South Bombay hotel series continues today with Westend Hotel, near Marine Lines Station & Bombay Hospital. I love their old furniture & spacious interiors. It has a tiny balcony too. This one cost me 5.7k with breakfast.
