So interesting to see the discussion shifting around notions of 'native signer/speaker'. Ideologies around 'native signer' have dominated sign language linguistics for too long (and I confess I'm as guilty of this as anyone else).

Time for Lisa Nandy MP & Chris Bryant to find the money to save the UK's most historic grassroots arts street... Birmingham's Station Street - from the clutches of negligent dvelopers who have failed The Crown, The Electric & Birmingham?

495 days since Glenbrook Property closed the UK's oldest working cinema for a 50flr tower. 💔 With lots of focus on Black Sabbath & The Crown let's not forget that next door to the derelict Crown is another example of Birmingham's culture, arts & creativity being held hostage.

I enjoyed reading newspapers over breakfast. Going to the cinema more often, as it was the only way to see the latest films. Most importantly, I loved greeting people in my neighbourhood as we walked past each other, and didn't have our faces buried in our phones.

My hometown Sydney have done an incredible job with their new underground system, and a new underground line in Melbourne is AHEAD of schedule. Clearly Britain needs Australians to sort out their big infrastructure projects.
