RPD Chief: foot chase to catch those who vandalized a closed hotel in ROC. Also, last night, an officer cut his leg on a fence chasing a suspect. That chase does not appear to be linked to the first.

RPD Chief: changing up how they respond to vandalized car and stresses importance of people calling police if their car is hit. This after more cars were reacted overnight.

RFD Chief: the recent house fires underscore the importance of preventative measures (eg don’t leave candles unattended and don’t leave charging phone in a bed) but also implores people to call 911 if you see activity in vacant structures.

Mayor Evans noted the passing of Margaret Popolizio, who worked for the city of Rochester for 57 years. She was given the keys to the city 2 years ago.

At former Greece Deputy Supervisor Michelle Marini’s plea hearing. Starting in a moment. News 8 WROC

Plea agreement would have Marini plead guilty to grand larceny in the fourth degree and offering false instrument for filing, a felony. $4,648.14 restitution for grand larceny. Sentencing for second charge would be left to the judge.

Marini acknowledges filing a campaign finance report that did not include a check for around $600 that was written to herself. She pleaded guilty.

She also acknowledged she directed contractors working on a Greece community center project to do work on her home then charged the work to the project. She pleaded guilty. Her attorney says she apologizes. Adds she doesn’t have a criminal history. She declined to talk.

Sentencing for Marini - conditional discharge for one year. No jail time. 40 hours of community service in 90 days.
