This the best hamstring machine ever… BUT I see so many people using it incorrectly!!! 🤦‍♂️ This glorious piece of equipment is called an ‘inverse curl’ and was designed by the late great Louis Simmonds from the notorious Westside Barbell The key to this machine is to set the

The Sp⚽️rts Physio I know a friend of one of the authors. He had long covid and recovered using this technique. He’s received death threats from publishing other similar articles. Also see the conclusion on this living systematic review published in Nov: bmj.com/content/387/bm…

AKA: "Stuff in the shoulder pain" Rotator cuff related encompasses tendon, bone, bursa, nerves and muscle. It sounds more specific than calling it "shoulder pain" but it isn't.

I’ve typed 5 tweets today and deleted all of them before posting… Is the effect of maturing or censoring I’m not sure! 🤔

I find it interesting that many who are involved with ME/CFS or Long Covid often deny or down play any role of psycho-social factors in their presentations! Why are these complex chronic conditions considered to be only physiological when we know many others are multifactorial!

So many have asked for my opinion on this recent opinion piece published about the 'best' terminology to use for shoulder pain! Now, putting my large negative biases towards the lead author aside, I think this kind of squabbling and posturing about whats the 'best' diagnostic

The Sp⚽️rts Physio Didn’t the term show up here like 5 years ago? Discussion about the usefulness of the term still going on? Hint: if you need x-years of discussion to see if a label is actually discribing what it should, it probably isn’t a great label…

No good evidence that Blood Flow Restriction Training reduces pain, or improves function or strength any better than standard resistance training for knee issues such as after ACL surgery or PFPS! 😲🫣 pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40435680/

Why use the word “improving” dynamic knee valgus? How is it improved? How is this validated. Using words like this create an unfounded bias.

Good discussion here about the effectiveness of these kinds of exercises! Personally I think these exercises are often wrapped up in a lot of bullshit explanations, but they can be useful for building confidence and physiology to moving faster after injury!
