"A paper with 7 main items can have up to 14 supplemental items, 7 of which can be supplemental figures. You currently have 30 supplemental items and 21 supplemental figures." So frustrating to jump through hoops to get a paper accepted and then jump backwards to get published.

I’m delighted to share our recent paper on circRNA immunity. Thank you to all collaborators! Howard Chang, Sun Hur, Bali Pulendran & teams. It was great learning about circRNA biology, self/non-self recognition, and immunity alongside everyone! Thread. cell.com/molecular-cell…

Rough stretch. 2 manuscripts, 4+ years of work each, and 8 combined desk rejections over 7 weeks. Of course can say we are aiming too high (not all C/N/S btw), but been around long enough to know these would get sent for review from a more established lab. #JuniorPI struggles.

Excited to share "Single-cell longitudinal analysis of SARS-CoV-2 infection in human bronchial epithelial cells" This is what happens when a virologist and comp biologist David van Dijk meet on twitter and then a pandemic happens. @wilenlab Great collab! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Reviewed a paper and signed off on the revision; now seeing re-reviews from other authors that are as long as the original list of concerns. I'm not sure when multiple rounds of review became normalized behavior, but it really needs to get unnormalized. IT'S JUST A PAPER.
