Keith Siau I’d love you to join me on an obstetric on call and tell me which caesareans are absolutely necessary before I do them. I assume that you also have a retrospectoscope in your toolkit?

The NHS is genuinely an awful employer. It’s been a little over a year since I left and joined a GP practice and it’s been wonderful. I look back at my time as a resident doctor, and particularly my time as co-chair of the BMA, and remember continuously reflecting on how bad

We are campaigning for systemic change, but some students are going to be imminently without any money to live on, in the gap between graduation and starting F1. People previously organised sponsorships and direct financial assistance for students - was that you? Contact me.

What genuine, objective evidence do you have to claim that 'the medical model of maternity care has led to a loss of trust in physiological birth?' Both this statement and your focus on 'empowerment' and 'trusting their ability to give birth physiologically' sound very much...

It is with great sympathy that we acknowledge Dr Prateek Joshi, consultant radiologist at Royal Derby Hospital, and his family were on board the Air India flight that tragically crashed yesterday. Our sincere condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, and all those affected

Really interesting one here. A surgical care practitioner with a professional doctorate signs off on patient letters as ‘Dr …’ Wondering how patients would understand the difference here.

Resident doctors should not be instructed to sign-off potentially unsafe prescriptions.   Today, Philip Banfield 💙 has written to Mark Hackett, Interim Chief Executive University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust, to raise serious concerns about unsafe working arrangements at the trust.   Read our letter in full 👇

As soon as the pay award was announced we wrote to the Secretary of State demanding negotiations; the DDRB changes have been ignored and the journey to pay restoration well and truly stalled. We've heard nothing. We want to talk but continued silence should inform your vote.

Clearly, the fears around unemployment aren’t just confined to Northern. “Doctors went to Australia 4 years ago because it was sunny and you were paid more. Now doctors go there because there’s a job for them” - a resident doctor in Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust’s pay and pizza session today.

“When someone at work comes and tells you that they’re pregnant, you don’t ask them as a first question if they’ll resign. You SHOULD ask them if they’re ok and how you can help them thrive in their post.” - Latifa chair of RB at #BMAARM2025 The BMA #NHS

Nurses performing ERCP is a conversation in itself, but this case highlights an absurdity with advanced practice regulation. Why is this nurse who performed procedures that traditionally only doctors do, being investigated by a group of nurses? yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/rotherham…

Dr Huw As this email states those with a contractual right to accommodation will continue to get it for free, this appears to be a further exploitative attack on Locally Employed Doctors, reducing equal access to safety protections in the 2016 contract.

My family had a recent experience of hospital care & we saw effect of this type of taskification of care. Pointless delays, miscommunication, unnecessary referrals etc. No one had the patient at the core of their thinking as they did their bit of the job - result was real anguish

It is unconscionable that so many doctors are unable to secure training places or stable employment, especially at a time when the country needs us more than ever. If this is affecting you, tell us. We need to expose the true scale of the crisis. surveymonkey.com/r/BMACWMedEmpl…
