Thank you to everyone who went to our nitrogen trial today! Great turnout and plenty of AFL spirit as we wore Brisbane Lions shirts to support our livestock advisor’s son, Lachie Neale. Best of luck to Brisbane this weekend! 🦁 #BrisbaneLions

Andrew Bell @NuseedAustralia I haven’t crunched the numbers for all sites but for NSW ranged from ~5 to 17. Water wasn’t usually the limiter and was a drier year 2023 where we got the best WUE

On this zero-till farm in the Southern Riverina, lime is applied to the soil without incorporation. Soil tests show surface lime effect but an acid layer remains in the root zone. FAR Australia is studying yield losses in pulse crops from waiting for lime to move through the soil

At the University of Melbourne’s Dookie campus in Victoria’s Mallee there is a plot of wheat varieties representing the major cultivars grown in the region dating back more than 120 years. It's an impressive collection and it's all thanks to self-confessed "wheat-nerd" Professor James Hunt

The Bureau of Meteorology, Australia current outlook for the Indian Ocean Dipole is indicating a negative IOD developing in July and persisting until October. Here is a rainfall map of the mean of the last 9 negative IODs. If the Southern Annular Mode goes negative in June, we might get some rain.

What happens if we lose paraquat in our dry land cropping system? This trial explores alternative herbicide modes of action and use patterns. F&G and NRI agronomy teams across Australia are testing replicated treatments in varied environments & weed spectrums.

Canola that established at sowing enjoyed a much needed 25mm of rain. Hopefully we see the remainder of the paddock in 7-10 days. Will make grass spray timing interesting, every year brings different challenges.
