The validation of Uganda’s #AfCFTA Strategy supported by UNDP Uganda is a significant milestone as Government of Uganda, UN Development and partners position Uganda to harness potential of the African Continental Free Trade Area #AfCFTA and to strengthen & accelerate intra-African trade.
To enable Uganda to harness the potential of the #AfCFTA, UN Development has supported over 1,000 small and medium enterprises #SMEs operated by women and youth to finalize 300 business deals with DRC, South Sudan, Somalia, Tanzania and Rwanda, and making 800 manufacturers export ready.
The AfCFTA Secretariat Official agreement is an ambitious trade agreement, encompassing digital trade and investment protection, amongst other areas. It seeks to lift 30 million people out of extreme poverty and generate $450bn in trade by 2035. Find out more: eprcug.org/blog/how-can-u…
From 8 to 12 May, we are supporting a meeting for EAC Partner States in Nairobi🇰🇪 to finalise East African Community #AfCFTA tariff offers under category B and C. Once finalised, agreements will contribute to the broader objective of implementing the #AfCFTA on regional & continental level.
