The 12th Annual Conference starts today. The Society is excited to welcome our distinguished speakers and attendees to Addis Ababa!

Our opening ceremony with distinguished excellencies including, but not limited to, H.E. Dr. Gedion Timothewos and Amb. Youssouf Mandoha Assoumani. Insightful discussion about the need for Africa to partake in the development of global commons.

Our keynote speaker, Prof Laurence Boisson de Chazournes, highlights cooperation as a central concept in the governance of global commons. She also emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability in the context of climate change.

Our first panel chaired by Prof Edwin Egede discussing International Law-Making concerning the Global Commons. Nancy Kgengwenyane and Miracle Mudeyi discuss African participation in the governance of biodiversity & Artificial Intelligence as a pathway for African law-making.

The Society is honored to have Dr. Elena Cima chair our fireside chat alongside Antonny Mukulu Nshimye and Yuejia Peng! They thoroughly discussed carbon markets, blended financing, and allegations of greenwashing.
