A fully funded academic conference at Cornell, where I was meant to present a new paper & a poster, was recently cancelled because most of the participants were denied their visa. 😪 I managed to get mine renewed for another 5 years probably because I applied from the UK. Sad!

After the attack(s) in Benue on Palm Sunday, I read an article in which a Catholic bishop argued that attacks during Christian festivities have become customary. Well, I spent 2 weeks investigating the trend since the last 10+ years. The preliminary results are fascinating.

I took over 15 modules in my 1st year undergrad in Nigeria. The undergrads I teach here in the UK take about 5 modules yearly. This makes students acquire different skillset: perseverance vs creativity. When it comes to generating original ideas, I give it to the UK.

Over 100 people were slaughtered in Benue. Families were burned alive in their sleep. No one has been named. No one has been arrested. And while the graves are still fresh, children are lined up in the rain, waving at politicians as they drive by. This is not leadership. This is
