We can't wait for the next generation of gynaecologists to give effective pain control for OP gynae procedures like IUD fitting and hysteroscopy. Here's a wonderful response from ObGyn student Agnieszka Steiner to Stephanie O'Donohue's BMJ article about agonising IUD fitting.

Nigel Edwards 2. If clinical professionals only work "at the top of their grade" with the most complex/challenging cases, it is a recipe for burnout, with no respite whilst some more straightforward cases give breathing space

Yes. This! This is exactly what the 10YP and Wes Streeting entirely missed. People aren't just diagnoses. The job of a doctor isn't just to order a test or write a script. Medicine is NOT transactional. It is relational.

Interesting learning from Dr Patrick Davies…. There is such a thing as reheating too quickly in hypothermic cardiac arrest 🥶 Rapid rewarming can lead to neuro inflammation & metabolic disturbances. #NEPTUNE25

Dr Matt Kneale (🦋drmk.link) I read the rest of the review coloured by Prof Leng’s forward which I thought was exceptional Not least because she is quite clear that resident training is broken and she’s the first in a position of true authority to admit it Powis and Whitty ignore this at their peril

Timing and triggers are essential. But quality is worse than imperfect, we know that pts flip categories routinely during the same episode. Ask away, but absolutely feel free to ignore category. Not all that spins is vertigo and plenty of near syncope is vestibular.

I have. I've met people with down syndrome, cancer, MS, alzheimers, paraplegics - all living on the streets. They die. Very soon after they stop being able to access medical care, people with disabilities on the streets just die.

I’m an English professor at William & Mary & for the first writing assignment in all my classes, I tell students to give me their version & a version written by AI. I tell them not to indicate which is which & I grade them both & make a guess. it’s never been hard to tell.
