Very proud mum moment last night at Edinburgh International Festival: two daughters on stage with NYCOS and Philharmonia Orchestra for a stunning performance of Julia Wolfe's Fire in my Mouth. Voices, velcro and violins combined to tell a devastating story of emigration, labour protest, and tragedy.

Glad to see Rob Johnson's piece on the likely costs of non-profit #OA publishing - which could be taken to mean that we should encourage non-profit #OA not because it will be cheaper, but because it's the Right Thing to do (on LSE Impact Blog ) blogs.lse.ac.uk/impactofsocial…

For those working on Diamond #OA: I found it remarkable how good some of the 1950s/60s editors were at persuading institutions to support their journal with both financial and in-kind support. Easier times? And/or skills that have been lost in the age of mega-publishers?

For #histsci friends: I'm saddened to find that children's book Laika the Canine Cosmonaut is 'the most obscure' of the hundreds of books I've read #KindleUnlimited10 (During lockdown home-schooling, it was a valuable resource for a project. Did no one else do that project?)
